September 1961 er\u00f6ffnet. Damit war das erste Modell eines binationalen Gymnasiums auf der Grundlage von in beiden L\u00e4ndern anerkannten Bildungszielen geschaffen. Diese Schule sollte ein Symbol der sich immer noch entwickelnden deutsch-franz\u00f6sischen Verst\u00e4ndigung werden. Sie stellte jedoch zun\u00e4chst lediglich eine Kooperation zwischen einer deutschen und einer franz\u00f6sischen weiterf\u00fchrenden Schule dar. In dieser Phase ging man daran, gemeinsame harmonisierte Lehrpl\u00e4ne zu entwickeln.<\/p>\n<p>Den Abschluss dieser m\u00fchevollen Arbeit bildete das &#8220;Abkommen \u00fcber die Errichtung deutsch-franz\u00f6sischer Gymnasien und die Schaffung eines deutsch-franz\u00f6sischen Abiturs&#8221; sowie die &#8220;Bedingungen f\u00fcr die Zuerkennung des Abiturzeugnisses vom 10. Februar 1972&#8221;. Im Juni 1972 machten die ersten Sch\u00fcler das gemeinsame Abitur. Man sprach damals von einem Modellfall f\u00fcr die europ\u00e4ische Integrations-Politik auf dem Gebiet des Schulwesens, und es entstanden nach diesem Vorbild in den 70er Jahren noch zwei Partnerschulen in Freiburg\/Br. und in Buc bei Versailles. Seit 1977 ist gesetzlich geregelt, da\u00df das DFG in Saarbr\u00fccken eine staatliche Schule des Saarlandes ist. Schultr\u00e4ger ist seit 1992 der Stadtverband Saarbr\u00fccken.<\/p>\n<h6>A SYMBOL OF GERMAN-FRENCH UNDERSTANDING<\/h6>\n<p>The Franco-German High School opened on 25 September 1961. This marked the creation of the first model of a binational secondary school based on educational objectives recognised in both countries. This school was intended to become a symbol of the ever-evolving German-French understanding. Initially, however, it represented merely a collaboration between a German and a French secondary school. During this phase, work began on developing joint, harmonised curricula.<\/p>\n<p>This painstaking work culminated in the \u2018Agreement on the Establishment of Franco-German High Schools and the Creation of a Franco-German Abitur\u2019 and the \u2018Conditions for the Award of the Abitur Certificate of 10 February 1972\u2019. In June 1972, the first pupils sat the joint Abitur. At the time, it was hailed as a model case for European integration policy in the field of education, and two further partner schools were established in the 1970s based on this model: one in Freiburg im Breisgau and one in Buc near Versailles. Since 1977, it has been legally established that the Franco-German High School in Saarbr\u00fccken is a state school in the Saarland.
