But here too \u2013 as with so many other things that enrich our school life \u2013 we do things differently: we operate in a binational format, consisting of a German and a French parent representative. We were elected by the class parent representatives at our school in accordance with the provisions of the Schulmitbestimmungsgesetz (School Co-determination Act).<\/p>\n<p>As part of our varied and wide-ranging responsibilities, we see ourselves, amongst other things,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>as the point of contact for parents, class parent representatives and teachers regarding questions, suggestions or constructive criticism;<\/li>\n<li>we aim to establish contacts and foster communication between parents, teachers and the school administration;<\/li>\n<li>we organise the parent representatives\u2019 meetings;<\/li>\n<li>we maintain constant contact and exchange information with the school administration;<\/li>\n<li>represent the interests of our parents vis-\u00e0-vis the Saarland Ministry of Education and the French authorities,<\/li>\n<li>represent the parent body and the image of our school both internally (through committee work, e.g. in the whole-school conference) and externally (e.g. by contributing to public relations work or providing content suggestions for the school website),<\/li>\n<li>organise and co-organise school projects, e.g. on the topic of addiction prevention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As you can see for yourselves, we play an active and ongoing part \u2013 even if it is not always visible to everyone \u2013 in school life, and we wish to have a positive influence on it for the benefit of our children.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dfg-lfa.org\/en\/kontakt\/kontakt\/\">Myriam Best and Karina Kornmann<\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\" style=\"position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;\">\n<p><!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } --><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\"><strong>Die Elternvertretung: Zusammensetzung und Aufgaben<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Wer bildet die Elternvertreterversammlung und welche Aufgaben hat sie?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Die f\u00fcr jeweils zwei Jahre gew\u00e4hlten Elternvertreterinnen und Elternvertreter und ihre jeweiligen Stellvertreter aus allen Klassen bilden die Elternvertreterversammlung und w\u00e4hlen aus ihrer Mitte die Schulelternvertretung am Deutsch-Franz\u00f6sischen Gymnasium. Diese vertritt die Interessen der Eltern insgesamt gegen\u00fcber der Schulleitung und der Lehrerschaft sowie gegen\u00fcber dem Schultr\u00e4ger und dem Bildungsministerium.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Die gew\u00e4hlten Elternvertreterinnen und Elternvertreter treffen sich einmal pro Trimester zur sogenannten <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Elternvertreterversammlung<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">. Diese bespricht unter der Leitung des gew\u00e4hlten Schulelternsprecher-Tandems schulinterne und -externe Themen, welche die Elternvertreterinnen und -vertreter in die einzelnen Klassen kommunizieren sollen.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Welche Funktion hat die Schulelternvertretung innerhalb der Schule?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Gew\u00e4hlt wird ein Schulelternsprecher-Tandem, welches aus einem Vertreter jedes Partnerlandes bestehen sollte, sowie ein\/e Delegierte\/r und ein\/e Stellvertreter\/in f\u00fcr die Landeselternvertretung. Diese vier Personen beraten die f\u00fcr Eltern wichtigen Themen auf Schulebene und initiieren gezielt Aktivit\u00e4ten der Elternschaft. Elternvertreter k\u00f6nnen am Schulleben partizipieren, indem sie&#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>&#8230; sich an der Organisation und Durchf\u00fchrung schulischer Veranstaltungen beteiligen:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><br \/>\nDies kann die Organisation von oder die Beteiligung an verschiedenen Aktivit\u00e4ten in der Schule sein, wie z.B. Tag der offenen T\u00fcr, Kennenlernnachmittag f\u00fcr neue Sch\u00fcler und Eltern, Schulfeste, Mitarbeit an Projekten.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>&#8230; mitbestimmen, was in der Schule passiert:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><br \/>\nAus der Elternvertreterversammlung werden auch die vier Vertreter\/innen in die <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Schulkonferenz<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">, drei Vertreter\/innen in die <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Gesamtkonferenz<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"> und der\/die Vertreter\/in in die jeweiligen <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Fachkonferenzen<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"> gew\u00e4hlt. Eltern und Sch\u00fcler sind in all diesen Gremien vertreten und d\u00fcrfen mit beraten bzw. mit entscheiden.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Welche Aufgaben haben die einzelnen Gremien?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0.18cm; margin-bottom: 0.18cm; line-height: 100%;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Die <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><strong>Schulkonferenz<\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">ist parit\u00e4tisch mit je vier Lehrer-, Eltern- und Sch\u00fclervertretern besetzt und<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"> tritt mindestens zweimal im Jahr unter der Leitung des Schulleiters zusammen. Machen Sie mit in der Elternarbeit! Sei es als Mandatstr\u00e4ger in einem der Gremien oder als Mitarbeiter bei punktuellen Projekten und Aktivit\u00e4ten. Ihre Hilfe ist in jedem Fall willkommen und erw\u00fcnscht. Sei es bei Schulfesten oder in Arbeitsgruppen zur Schulentwicklung. Sei es im Rahmen des F\u00f6rdervereins ALFA oder als Mitglied der ETUDE, des Tr\u00e4gervereins der freiwilligen Ganztagsschule.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm;\">\n<\/div>\n<h5>THE PARENTS\u2019 REPRESENTATIVE BODY: COMPOSITION AND ROLES<\/h5>\n<h5>WHO MAKES UP THE PARENTS\u2019 REPRESENTATIVE ASSEMBLY AND WHAT ARE ITS ROLES?<\/h5>\n<p>The parent representatives, elected for a two-year term, and their respective deputies from all year groups form the <strong>Parents\u2019 Representatives\u2019 Assembly<\/strong> and elect the <strong>School Parents\u2019 Council<\/strong> at the Franco-German High School from among their number. This council represents the interests of all parents vis-\u00e0-vis the school management and teaching staff, as well as the school authority and the Ministry of Education.<br \/>\nThe elected parent representatives meet once a term for what is known as the Parents\u2019 Representatives\u2019 Meeting. Chaired by the elected parent representatives\u2019 spokesperson duo, this meeting discusses internal and external school matters which the parent representatives are then to communicate to their respective classes.<\/p>\n<h5>WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL PARENTS\u2019 REPRESENTATIVE BODY WITHIN THE SCHOOL?<\/h5>\n<p>A pair of school parents\u2019 representatives is elected, which should consist of one representative from each partner country, as well as a delegate and a deputy for the national parents\u2019 representative body. These four individuals discuss issues of importance to parents at school level and organise specific activities for the parents\u2019 community. Parent representatives can participate in school life by&#8230;<\/p>\n<h5>&#8230; TAKING PART IN THE ORGANISATION AND RUNNING OF SCHOOL EVENTS:<\/h5>\n<p>This may involve organising or taking part in various activities at the school, such as open days, welcome afternoons for new pupils and parents, school fests, and collaboration on projects.<\/p>\n<h5>&#8230; HAVE A SAY IN WHAT HAPPENS AT SCHOOL:<\/h5>\n<p>The Parents\u2019 Representatives\u2019 Meeting also elects the four representatives to the School Conference, three representatives to the Teachers\u2019 Council and the representative to the respective subject councils. Parents and pupils are represented on all these bodies and are entitled to take part in discussions and decision-making.<\/p>\n<h5>WHAT ARE THE ROLES OF THE INDIVIDUAL BODIES?<\/h5>\n<p>The School Conference is composed of an equal number of representatives from each group \u2013 four teachers, four parents and four pupils \u2013 and meets at least twice a year under the chairmanship of the Headteacher. It decides on fundamental issues relating to the organisation of the school (school rules, the school timetable, the DFG\u2019s holiday schedule, changes to the timetable, homework supervision), as well as on proposals for the school\u2019s development or building projects.<br \/>\nThe whole-staff meeting takes place once per term and deals with all matters of fundamental importance to the work at the DFG, such as work plans and teaching methods, assessment, investments and the exclusion of pupils.<br \/>\nThe subject-specific meetings discuss matters relating to the respective subject. These include, for example, issues of teaching methodology, assessment, the procurement of teaching and learning materials, and the coordination of lesson plans.<br \/>\nThis may involve organising or participating in various school activities, such as open days, introductory afternoons for new pupils and parents, school festivals, and collaboration on projects.<\/p>\n<h5>&#8230; mitbestimmen, was in der Schule passiert:<\/h5>\n<p>Aus der Elternvertreterversammlung werden auch die vier Vertreter\/innen in die <strong>Schulkonferenz<\/strong>, drei Vertreter\/innen in die <strong>Gesamtkonferenz<\/strong> und der\/die Vertreter\/in in die jeweiligen <strong>Fachkonferenzen<\/strong> gew\u00e4hlt.
