Ce qui \u00e9tait \u00ab \u00e0 la mode \u00bb au d\u00e9but du XIXe si\u00e8cle a toutefois conduit, selon von Weizs\u00e4cker, \u00e0 deux terribles guerres mondiales. C&rsquo;est dans le contexte de ces exp\u00e9riences que l&rsquo;Union europ\u00e9enne a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9e. Et il est \u00e9galement clair que le nationalisme ne peut apporter de r\u00e9ponses convaincantes aux d\u00e9fis g\u00e9opolitiques actuels.<\/p>\n<p>La rencontre entre d&rsquo;une part des \u00e9l\u00e8ves de Premi\u00e8re, des d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s des \u00e9l\u00e8ves, des participant.e.s au Parlement europ\u00e9en des jeunes et au projet Steiger-KI et d&rsquo;autre part le ministre des Finances de la Sarre a eu lieu \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de la journ\u00e9e du projet europ\u00e9en.<\/p>\n<p>De 2014 \u00e0 2019, von Weizs\u00e4cker a lui-m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 membre du Parlement europ\u00e9en. Il s\u2019y est notamment engag\u00e9 dans les domaines de la politique \u00e9conomique, financi\u00e8re et fiscale et a milit\u00e9 en faveur d\u2019une int\u00e9gration europ\u00e9enne approfondie. Ces derniers ont profit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;occasion pour poser des questions sur des sujets d&rsquo;actualit\u00e9 tels que la cr\u00e9ation d&rsquo;une arm\u00e9e europ\u00e9enne pour d\u00e9fendre les fronti\u00e8res ext\u00e9rieures de l&rsquo;UE, la lutte contre les cons\u00e9quences de la guerre en Iran et le r\u00f4le de l&rsquo;Europe dans un monde domin\u00e9 par les \u00c9tats-Unis et la Chine. Von Weizs\u00e4cker a propos\u00e9 des pistes de solutions, mais a \u00e9galement mis en \u00e9vidence les d\u00e9fis \u00e0 relever, et a encourag\u00e9 les jeunes \u00e0 s&rsquo;impliquer activement.<\/p>\n<p>Cette visite a soulign\u00e9 avec force l\u2019importance de la Journ\u00e9e du projet europ\u00e9en, non seulement comme \u00e9v\u00e9nement symbolique, mais aussi comme pratique vivante d\u2019\u00e9change et de compr\u00e9hension.
