Bundeswettbewerb Fremdsprachen (National Foreign Language Competition)
Following the very successful participation of many of our pupils in recent years, a new round of the National Foreign Language Competition is now getting underway. Once again, there are numerous attractive cash and non-cash prizes to be won in the following categories:
- Solo: for pupils in Years 8–10 (in one foreign language) and for Years 10–12 (in two foreign languages)
- Team: for pupils in Years 6–10
To gauge the level of difficulty in French, English and Spanish, please refer to the past years’ tasks.
Registration must be completed by 6 October 2026 at the latest via www.bundeswettbewerb-fremdsprachen.de

Bundeswettbewerb Mathematik (National Mathematics Competition)
Do you enjoy algebra, geometry and combinatorics? Are you looking for new mathematical challenges? Then take part in the National Mathematics Competition! The competition is open to all pupils who will be eligible for a university entrance qualification in the future.
The competition consists of three rounds and lasts a total of around 14 months for the top participants.
There are attractive prizes to be won – such as scholarships.

Känguru der Mathematik (Maths Kangaroo)
a maths multiple-choice competition for more than 5.5 million participants in many European and non-European countries.- a competition which takes place once a year on the third Thursday in March simultaneously in all participating countries and is held as a written exam in schools under invigilation.
- an event aimed at supporting maths education in schools, which seeks to awaken and reinforce a love of maths and, by offering interesting problems, to encourage independent study and classroom work.
- a competition in which, within 75 minutes, participants must solve 24 problems across 3 categories for Years 3/4 and 5/6, and 30 problems across 3 categories for Years 7/8, 9/10 and 11/13.
- a competition with steadily growing numbers of participants: in Germany, these have risen from 184 in 1995 to over 800,000 in 2009.

Mathematik ohne Grenzen (Mathematics Without Borders)
In recent years, our school has successfully taken part in this competition on several occasions. The questions, which are set in German and French, are answered through teamwork.
